about the designer
Michael's formal education in design began in the plastic arts, working as a painter and sculptor. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Delaware with a concentration in painting, the investigation of spacial relationships and large scale construction propelled him towards architecture as a means to pursue his design imperatives.
After completing a M. Arch degree with honors in 2009, he began work as a teaching assistant at his alma mater, the NewSchool of Architecture and Design. He also began an internship at the Office of James Burnett (OJB), at the firm’s Solana Beach office. At OJB his focus was primarily on construction documents and presentation graphics.
Michael currently resides in San Diego and works as a freelance designer and graphics consultant. He's also an instructor within the undergraduate program at NewSchool, where he teaches Design Studio and 3D Modeling.
